“ Absolutely love everything from Newkirk's. Their friendly service, fermented hot sauces, reasonably priced breakfast sandwiches, and great selection of other hot deli sandwiches. Not many places in the city make a good BEC which is how I originally found out about this place, however I really love their cheesesteak and pastrami sandwiches. My only complaint is that they open at 8am which I feel is really late for a place that serves breakfast sandwiches! I work nearby so if they ever opened earlier I could get a BEC for breakfast. ”
“ I love this spot! Bacon egg and cheese on the poppy roll every time. Their green and orange sauce is flavorful too. My husband always gets the pastrami egg and cheese and won't shut up about how flavorful it is. It's a small spot with a few cool pinball machines that you can play while you wait. I recommend calling ahead to have your order ready when you get there. I think there closed on Sunday's so that would be the only downside to this place. ”
“ Managed to find a parking spot somewhere nearby and preordered on their website for pickup. I will say do not sleep on the "Horse on the Roof" sandwich. I added extra cheese and cherry peppers and it was so good. The preordering was a breeze and lets you know the order was submitted, processed and ready for pickup. ”
“ I've went there twice during my work break because it's so close, and both times it was a pleasant experience. I'm writing to express my recent visit with them. I ordered a mortadella breakfast sandwich without knowing what it was (I know, how stupid of me), and when it arrived, I didn't want it because I don't eat pork. The guy who took my order was very nice and simply took it back and made a different sandwich- I got the avocado sandwich ( A French roll is topped with a variety of ingredients including avocado, cream cheese, cucumber, red bell pepper, tomato, provolone, and cheddar cheese) which was fresh and filling. Orders came out relatively quickly and I ate in both times. The cashier is a down to earth guy, and it's clear from the discussions he has with other people that he values his clients and regulars. ”
“ Our favorite spot for a cheesesteak! Great sandwiches for a reasonable price. These sandwiches are heavy, but in a good way. Our only complaint is that we wish the sandwiches were larger because they are just so good! We often call in advance to pick up. The staff is friendly and service is quick. ”
“ The sandwiches are tasty! My buddy and I ordered two and split them. Cheesesteak and BLT. Both were impressive. The side hit sauces were excellent. Nice service good atmosphere. I'll be back! ”
“ Best BLT. It's the bacon. They just make excellent bacon here and no matter what sandwich you get it in, it makes the sandwich that much more delicious. Great for breakfast or lunch! Good service, super friendly, good food. You can't go wrong. ”
“ Solid sandwich!! bread is soft and sandwich is flavorful. Hot sauce also really good and said they ferment in house. Staff were so friendly! Great vibes, glad I got to stop by for a quick bite to go. ”
“ I was driving through this part of city, and saw the Newkirk's building and the words cheesesteak so I knew I had to add to my must try list, and decided to give it a go. Since it was my first time, I went with their cheesesteak and got a sausage breakfast sandwich. The surprise winner between the two was the breakfast sandwich! The poppy seed Kaiser roll was baked to perfection and overall, this was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in a really long time. I've been thinking about it ever since I went last week. They have a wide selection of fried egg breakfast sandwiches, and definitely will be back for more. The cheesesteak was good but can't dethrone my top spot in my personal power rankings but id say it's in the Top 3. Whatever bread they use is really good, crunchy yet soft. They really excel at the bread here. I think next time I'd opt out of the bell peppers bc that flavor was too dominant and was pretty much all I could taste. The amount of meat is decent, but I'd probs order double meat next time. They had a couple different hot sauces to pour onto your sandwiches, and between the two, their orange sauce (I think habanero) was very tasty and added a nice kick. Overall, would 100% come back! ”
“ Got the Horse on the roof. Pretty expensive for a breakfast sandwich but it was nice and hot. Also wait time for it was good. Only about 5 minutes wait after ordering. Parking is difficult In this area though. 8/10 for the sandwich Would come back and try the #1 next time ”
